What is the NKBA?  The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) is an international non-profit trade association for kitchen and bath professionals. 

Why Should I use a Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD)?  It is a certification that earns a higher professional standing in the design field.  People look at CKD's as experts in the kitchen design field. 

Where do I begin when redoing my kitchen?  Decisions must be made about layout, proportion, storage and a number of other things.  Details are important in any kitchen, but designers like to start with the big picuture-how you use your kitchen-and let details emerge. 

Do you install?  Yes, we have a few highly qualified installers that we use and trust. 

What is the best counter top material?  Selecting the right material for your new countertop is a matter of taste and function.  Each surface has its own care considerations.  It's important to become familiar with properties of each before you make your selections.  Don't hesitate to combine materials to stay within budget yet create the look and function you want.  
Laminate: is durable and moderately priced with a wide range of colors and finishes and it is easy to maintain.  
Solid Surface: materials such as Corian and EOS-3cm are water and stain resistant, non-porous and easy to clean.  Although knife cuts and scratches can be removed with an abrasive cleanser, these tops are not designed to be cutting surfaces and or landing pads for hot pots and pans.  
Granite: is a hard surface and has a rich look, surface may require few special precautions. Granite must be sealed periodically.  Most granites are impervious to scratches, staining and heat blistering or cracking.  Hot pots and pans won't damage it.  
Engineered Stone: such as Cambria gives you the look and feel of granite without the upkeep 

How do I find a reputable kitchen firm? Research, ask around.  Word of mouth is the best information.  If someone you know has a kitchen you love, ask them who the firm was that helped them create their dream kitchen.

I can't tell from pictures, how do I know my kitchen will look nice?  It is extremely importat to build a relationship with your designer.  You should have a few meetings so you can both understand your vision and agree on what will work the best for you and your family.
